Wound Care Nurse at Home in Westmead & Western Sydney

Our Registered Nurses assess, dress and monitor wounds in your home, so they heal faster and small problems don't turn into hospital visits.

Slow-healing wounds are one of the most common reasons people end up back in hospital. A nurse who sees the same wound every visit can spot the early signs of infection or breakdown long before they become serious. Good Nurse provides nurse-led wound care across Westmead, Parramatta, Blacktown, the Hills District and surrounding Western Sydney suburbs.

How it works

  1. An RN assesses the wound, your health, nutrition, mobility and what's slowing healing.
  2. We agree a dressing plan with your GP or specialist and record wound measurements and photos.
  3. Nurses visit as often as the wound needs, from daily to weekly, and track progress.
  4. If the wound changes or stalls, we tell your GP the same day and adjust the plan.

Funding

Wound care is usually funded through your NDIS plan (disability-related health supports) or, for older people, through Support at Home, where nursing is a clinical support with no client contribution. Private visits are also available. Not sure what your plan covers? Call us and we'll go through it with you.

Frequently asked questions

How often will a nurse visit for wound care?

It depends on the wound and dressing type. Some wounds need daily visits at first, others weekly. We review the frequency as the wound heals.

Do I need a doctor's referral for wound care at home?

Not always, but we work best with your GP or specialist's plan. We'll contact them with your consent.

Is wound care free under Support at Home?

Nursing, including wound care, is a clinical support under Support at Home, so you don't pay a contribution for it.

Do you supply the dressings?

Dressings and consumables are usually funded from your NDIS plan or Support at Home budget. We'll explain the options at assessment.
